I'm glad I grabbed this novella for free. If I had paid for it, I'd probably be throwing a fit right now. When this popped up on a book deal list, I had just been looking for a good triad romance. I figured it was fate -- a novella fitting that theme, and it's free! Sadly, I was very disappointed in Summer Wine. I didn't connect with the characters at all. On top of that, everything seemed very flat and rushed, and the sex was not very sexy; really, it reminded me of a low-rate porno. Not because I'm glad I grabbed this novella for free. But rather due to the lack of character development, lack of believable emotions, and overall writing style, etc. Oh, and there's a big ol' dollop of insta-love going on in here. Really. One night as a threesome and these three are COMPLETELY CONVINCED that they are all in love with one another and can make it as a triad. No, just no. I'm sorry, even if I'm reading for escape or fantasy, I refuse to believe that. And the editing . . . yeah, I won't go there. I'm sure there will be some that enjoy this novella, and it is free. But for me, there are just so many other great books in this genre, and I'm slightly sorry that I wasted an hour of my time reading this one.

Sometimes I'm just not sure how to review a book I've just read, sometimes even putting off the review for a while doesn't help either. This is one such book. This is slightly more than "just" a smutty menage, but not a whole lot. The story itself is too short to make any connections with the characters, and there is little to no unresolved sexual tension going to keep the reader at the edge of their seat. With how short this story is, and how little you get to know the characters, I was hoping that the rest of the books would be about the same people. Since it's not, and seeing how short these are, I'm not going to dive into the rest of the series. I need to feel like I connect with the characters for a book, much less a series, to hold my attention. 2 1/2 stars.

I was bitterly disappointed by this book! It was nothing more than an extended sex scene with a lot of whining about economic inequality and general insecurities! The writing wasn't bad, and I did like the descriptions of the setting, but other than that, there wasn't much to recommend this book. Since I have already purchased the second book in the series, I'll read it to see if things improve, but I'm not expecting them to.

I'm no mathematician but ... Super quick yet sexy read. I wish my trips to the Hunter were this good. Good flow to the story given the length. The poly dynamic given considered thought. Enjoyed the read and would definitely read more from this author.

I don't know how she does it, but Jess Dee, one of my favorite authors of erotic romance, writes some of the most decadent MMF stories out there, and the love triangle in SUMMER WINE is no exception. Angus Lowe is excited to have a shot at landscaping a boutique hotel and winery straight out of Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous. He's also excited about Lily Hemington, the woman showing him around who he's fallen hard and fast for. Angus Lowe is excited to have a shot at landscaping a boutique hotel and winery straight out of Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous. He's also excited about Lily Hemington, the woman showing him around who he's fallen hard and fast for. But the classy and well-bred artist and professor is way out of his league, and he knows he has no shot with the blue-eyed beauty. So why the hell does she kiss him like he's the only man on earth... ...and then admit she's in love with Blake Seymour, the very man whose landscape he's bidding on. Lily has been in love with Blake forever but the feelings aren't reciprocated. She can't help her attraction to Angus, who with the stroke of a finger has her coming apart in his arms. Blake has learned to control his love and desire for Lily over the years. He knows his need for men would only end up hurting her in the end, so he's conditioned himself to push away the need. But seeing her and her sexy-as-hell landscaper has shattered his self-control, and when the very perceptive Lily offers a solution they could all benefit from, he's done for. After an epic sexperience, Angus is clearly the odd man out of this trio; he's just the entertainment for the day for the couple clearly in love and meant for one another. Can Lily and Blake convince Angus that his concerns about their social status gaps don't mean piss and vinegar when it comes to love? Jess Dee is one of my favorite authors of bisexual erotic ménage stories for a very good reason--she can write a sex scene like nobody else, but she also brings a lot of heart to her stories that you typically don't find in the shorter stories. Lily was sweet and very sensual, the perfect foil for both Angus' honest yet self-deprecating dominance and Blake's lighthearted personality. The chemistry between the three of them was completely erotic, and I thought when the gloves came off and the truth came out, Lily handled the men perfectly. She got them to admit both their attraction to her but also to one another and simply orchestrated some seriously hot ménage action for herself! All of the characters were perfectly developed, and I felt a connection to them almost immediately, particularly Angus' deep desire for Lily and his insecurity about his own background and current social status. I felt for Blake too; he's tried so hard to shield Lily from his desire for men, even though she's been aware for years. Overall, SUMMER WINE, the debut book in the Tastes of Seduction series, was terrific! It makes me want to beg for more hot MMF sex, more wine, more fun and sexy banter and more of the incredibly talented Ms. Dee. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Love, like a good wine, comes in so many varieties and flavors. Some are bold, while others are subtle. Some tasters may prefer one over the other and some like a little bit of both. Angus is a blue collar man, used to working long days with his hands literally in the dirt. He’s an uber talented landscaper who’s more comfortable with a cold beer than an aromatic wine bouquet. Until he meets Lily. Angus is such a sweetheart, I couldn’t help but fall in love with him right along with Lily and Blake. He’s honest and real. The way Ms. Dee describes him from both Lily and Blake’s POV made him just as mouth watering to me and he was to them. Lily is everything that is bright, sparkly and sweet about the wine she loves. She comes from money but it isn’t who she is. She’s talented and very perceptive which goes a long way towards moving what might have only ever been a duo into a solid chance as a trio. She’s spunky and very passionate. Blake is the third piece of this triangle. He’s crazy wealthy but like Lily, the money doesn’t define him. He’s long denied his love for Lily and I liked the author’s explanation for why. The scenes with him and Angus are supremely hot as I know, from experience, that Jess Dee can write. She doesn’t disappoint. This is a short story. It’s perfect for an erotic fix and like a nice glass of wine, it’s just enough. I’d love to have seen the time just before the story begins to watch the tension really build between Angus and Lily; going back to when they first met. But, it didn’t ruin the story for me for not having read that part. Ms. Dee does a great job of sprinkling in the tension with touch and tastes samples. I read it in a single sitting and look forward to the next installment. I hope she keeps with the MMF theme in the next one as well. If you’re short on time but want a satisfying taste of something that’s hot, sweet and savory at the same time, check out Summer Wine.

    Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Slick‘s review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews 4 STARS Review copy provided for an honest review I can’t help it, I’m a sucker for a story involving ménage and when that ménage has the potential to turn into something more, I’m ecstatic and Jess Dee has made me ecstatic with the first book in her newest series, Summer Wine. Full out sexiness, with some unrequited love finally realized, and the man that brings it all together makes this book one hell of a fabulous summertime story. Full out sexiness, with some unrequited love finally realized, and the man that brings it all together makes this book one hell of a fabulous summertime story. I love books with the friends to lovers angle and this book had that hook, but it added in an extra person to double their pleasure and double their fun. Lily and Blake have been friends for years, Lily admits she loves Blake but she’s sure he doesn’t share her feelings. Blake adores Lily and would love a relationship with her but he needs more than she can provide. When she shows up with her gardener, Angus, in tow, a man he’s pretty sure wants Lily as much as he does, he can’t help but notice the sparks flying between the two of them as well. I really respected how easily Lily accepted the fact that both Blake and Angus are bi-sexual and how much she wanted both men and let them know it. Their intimate moments were sexy as hell and they seemed to have no problem figuring out what each other needed. As this book is novella length it moves at a fast pace, but I never felt cheated because in a short amount of time we learned quite a bit about these characters, their pasts, and we get a clear view of where they are headed in the future. Thoroughly enjoyable and intensely provocative, Summer Wine by Jess Dee is a fantastic start to a new series and I can’t way to see what happens next.

I picked this novella up because it was free and wanted something short and sexy to read. Sadly, I was let down. While I loved the concept, two men and one woman. Sort of admiration from afar turned into more. It didn't end up working for me. Angus, the landscaper, is at a wine tasting because Lily, who recently hired him, convinced him to go. The first part of the story drags on and I'm not entirely sure where it was supposed to lead to, but it didn't work for me. The first part of the story drags on and I'm not entirely sure where it was supposed to lead to, but it didn't work for me. It seemed like Angus was there alone until POOF Lily was there. However, for me, in the end he was the most likable character. Lily can't be with Angus even after they share an amazing kiss because she feels attached to Blake, a friend whom she's secretly loved for years. At one point she admits to having slept with other people while in lust for Blake, but all she can think about is Blake, yet somehow nothing has ever come of their relationship.... until Angus. Then there is Blake, who earned his money from some software and bought a hotel to fix up and use as an investment. This is how the story comes together. Lily is bringing Angus to meet Blake since he did such a good job on her yard. Oops, there is some kissing and naughty action along the way so when they arrive Lily is still flushed from it, however, that is not what catches Blake's eye. It is the sexy man meat, Angus. All in all, it wasn't a horrible story. I think it was silly to have the insta love scene and declarations. The sex scene was eh, okay for me. It lacked emotion and feelings for me (even with the whole 'I love you because you banged me' bit) Editing seriously lacked as there is numerous misspelled words. However, it was free, it was short, so that helped. Renee

Jess Dee and ménage were all the words I needed to click the pre-order button for SUMMER WINE before you could even blink! And I was not disappointed. The ménage story exceeded my expectations, the dirty sexy was fabulously hot and the book contained so much info about wine that I (a non-wine drinker) now want to drink wine :) My only complaint: it was too short! I wanted more Lily, Angus and Blake! I wanted more Lily, Angus and Blake! Favorite Quotes: He glided his tongue over hers with a demanding, velvety heat, and lust exploded in Lily’s belly. A woman in love with another man didn’t kiss the way Lily had just kissed him. Didn’t happily accept his tongue in her mouth and melt into his body as though trying to mold herself to him. She didn’t struggle to breathe or drag hard nipples against his chest either. Desire, sweet and pure, burst through her. And Lily wanted. Just…wanted. Hungered for more. She shifted in her seat, ground down in an effort to subdue the sudden ache in her groin, the all-consuming need and emptiness. Holy cow, his kisses! A nun would voluntarily lose her habit for one of those kisses. Her heart was bursting, her world was right. Happiness descended along with the pleasure, encapsulating her in a warm bubble of pure joy. “See, Angus, Blake and I may love each other.” She slipped her hand into Blake’s. “But you’re the glue that brought us together. And we’re gonna need that glue to hold us together.” She smiled shyly at him and slipped her other hand in Angus’s. “I might even be a little in love with the glue.”

If you love a short love triangle with a M/M/F you will enjoy this short novel. Of course I love everything Jess Dee writes so it was a no-brainer for me to select this book. Lil has been in love with Blake for years but because he is bi-sexual he chooses to just be platonic friends….until he watches her with their new Landscaper, Angus. One on one is not enough for either of these folks….but together they work. This is hot kinky lovin at it’s best. reviewed by geri for welovekink(dot)com

If you like a fast, hot read between 2 guys and a girl then this is one for you. Summer wine is short, took me less than an hour to read. Would have been a much more satisfying read as a longer book where the characters had a chance to grow their relationships and flesh out their personalities as I really enjoyed the m/m/f combination and the intricacies involved in making this sort of relationship work.

Shorter than I would have liked. But quite enjoyable. I do like that it was M/M/F not just M/F/M It's been a long while between reading it and now reviewing it, so my brain has already moved on. But I liked it. I think I would have liked it to be longer. I don't remember disliking any of the characters.

A quick little menage story featuring three very delectable Aussies. For a free (Nook) menage quickie you get exactly that. You also get a few details like about wine tasting, gardens and such but if we are being honest I felt like Angus hell with the wine give me Lily, then Blake came along and I was like hell yea lets get this weekend rolling.

Three Fifty Percents Equal A Hundred Percent This is a quick fun read. What do you do when you're in love with someone who doesn't let you seduce him. You fall for someone else who might possibly seduce both of you. Entertaining and interesting short hot read. Enjoy I did.

I ended up skimming through this book. The dialogue was stilted, it was hard to believe modern twenty-somethings speak like this. The insta-love and commitment to a threesome relationship after 1 night was impossible to believe.

No one writes a steamy, hot, sex scene like Ms. Jess Dee. Not one person. It's short, a little sweet and a whole lot HOT! Only complaint...I want more of these three. I fell a little in love with Blake, Angus and Lily too. Looking forward to the next in the series, Red Red Wine!

Very predictable and of course...too short for my tastes. I should ignore novellas. They don't give me enough meat to tear into. Worth the read-sure-enjoyable....memorable? Maybe not so much.

My first book by Jess Dee. Really enjoyed this. I liked the setting and the characters. A good quick read that sizzled. I would have liked a little more to the story though, so maybe more of a book than a novella. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Hot, but... This erotic novella was definitely steamy but lacked a little in the writing and character area. I think if you're looking for some sexiness and enjoy menage stories, but don't need an involved story, this is worth the download.
