Neo re-read this one, having discovered the joys of ‘read-along’ audiobooks! With Thanksgiving on the horizon, Minnie and Moo must help a flock (?) of scared turkeys. Apparently the Farmer and his family are hosting their family. From the turkeys, other animals express concern that they might also appear at the feast. What will our heroines do? Neo asked if turkeys really hide in trees and how a cow might fit!

I love Minnie and Moo. Who could resist a cream puff addicted cow? Not me. Anyway, like the other books in the "Minnie and Moo" universe this is another story filled with silly fun and is quirkily different from most Thanksgiving stories. It's Thanksgiving and bovines Minnie and Moo are relaxing beneath a tree sipping away on hot cocoa and nibbling on cream puffs when thirty-six frantic turkeys beg need of their help. Minnie and Moo hide the tribe of turkeys in the tree and settle in to finish their snack when they're accosted by a rather rude rooster and his flock of chickens who demand help. They're next in line in the food chain, you see. Before you know it Minnie and Moo have quite the zoo hidden within the tree. Happy chaos ensues as the farmer and his family decide to picnic beneath the tree. Light, fluffy and filled with laughs this a good pick if your brain is a little drained and the kids are stressed.

At our house we love Minnie and Moo books and this one is no exception. It's thanksgiving and the turkeys are concerned they will be the main course for dinner, so they beg Minnie and Moo for help. Minnie and Moo try and explain that the Farmer's wife doesn't serve meat, but the turkeys just don't listen. To keep them quiet, they help the turkeys find a hiding spot; but soon all the other farm residents feel they too must hide. And so the hilarity begins. What a fun book. Exactly my kind of dry humor. This just cracked me up. I am not sure my 6 year old appreciated it as much as me or if I just had the tired jollies, but I want to read more of these now!

This is a funny, cute story about farm animals being afraid of becoming Thanksgiving dinner. I have to admit, I laughed out loud.

Our girls have really enjoyed the books in the Minnie and Moo series by Denys Cazet. It's a fairly typical story in the series and we are always amused by these bovine friends. This story has a Thanksgiving theme and the numbers of animals who try to hide from the chopping block is humorous (view spoiler)[, just to discover that the farmer's wife is serving tofu for dinner (hide spoiler)] . I have never read a "Minnie and Moo" book before. This book was written very well. I enjoyed how all the animals of the farm went to the cows for help, but never listened to what the cows actually had to say. This book would be a good book for young readers that are coming out of reading picture books, but are not quite ready for full length chapter books. This book is like an in-between stage to help those readers develop the rest of the skills necessary to move up in the reading world. The boo I have never read a "Minnie and Moo" book before. Minnie and Moo are sitting around trying to visit when the turkeys come around scared of the farmer, then they convinced the cows to hide them and up the tree they go. And then the rest of the farm animals come and all the while the cows hide them all up the tree. Because they are afraid of being Thanksgiving dinner! Then the farmer and his wife and family come along and have a picnic under them all. The tree gives them an ostrich egg, and some milk! They think its a Thanksgiving Tree! This is my first introduction to Minne and Moo. How cute they are, loving their hot chocolate and creme puffs. They try to help everyone from being eaten for the the Thanksgiving feast only to find out tofu is being served. Very cute.
